Business and Enterprise

Kia ora, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei and hello

Today I will be telling you guys about what we did in business enterprise kete and what jobs we had. We had to make a group made up with four people, My group was, Tom-CEO, Caleb-Production manager, James Kerepa-marketing manager and I was the sales and finance manger.

Sales and finance manager keeps track of money and trying to get people to buy your stuff. Marketing manager does and works on the poster and making what were selling. Production manager is the person who adds those miner details to everyone part of the products that are being soled. CEO stands for chief executive officer. That's someone who is in charge of mostly everything, and tells people what to do which makes the CEO a very important part in a business and holds a lot of responsibility towards their own company.

Every single step in creating a good business has to be perfect because otherwise your business will suddenly come to an end, and you may have not expected to sell that much. We had to think about how we can get people to come over and buy our stuff, which comes back to also having a good poster that stands out to every other posters in area. Some business may need to persuade (persuade meaning changing someones opinion) the person buy talking to them.

I think my business failed in terms of selling. I thought our company was great our poster was flashy and stood out. Maybe it was what we were selling maybe people didn't like what we made. But I know that the choice we made in what we could've soled was poorly which is why every single step it important.

I think the way we spoke to people was great we used our CARR ( Commitment, Achievement, respect, Resilience) values but in the ending I could see that my group was taking their own anger out on the customers because we didn't sell as much as we expected and in the end we kinda just gave up and knew that our business failed. We could've worked on how we treated our friends and customers because our CARR values are extremely important to our school.

Today I will be telling you what we did in health

We learned about what kind of objects that help girls while their on their period. Like Tampons pads and a menstrual cup. We also saw some objects that girls use. We also learned about how you can use them the proper way and use it for its purpose. Things we learned such as good touch bad touch and what is consent consent is permission or approval that something can happen.

 Aim: To make red cabbage pH for use on different household chemicals

mix everything and see what happens.

Cooking

 Hello boys and girls

Today I will be going through and talking about what I made in cooking class. 

For cooking we made nachos with sour cream, beans, and some spicy ingredients we used a frying pan, measuring spoon, plate, 3 bowls filled with ingredients, cheese, grater,wooden spoon and some meat. We put the meat onto the frying pan turned on the oven and started sturing the meat around. while that was happening someone else was using the grater to grate the cheese into smaller pieces. after all of that we got out some bowls and put the nachos in the ingredients the meat and some sour cream. After that we ate it and I rate our food a 8 out of 10 not bad.

Baking Soda

Baking Soda is also known as Sodium Bicarbonate.Due to its abrasive and cleaning properties it is used as a raising agent in baking, as a household cleaner and in a number of other ways.

My ten uses of baking soda

1 Mouthwash

4 May improve exercise performance 

5 Remove stubborn carpet stains

6 Clean fruits and veggies

7 Relieve itchy skin and sunburns

8 can be used in cooking

Things in a sherbet

1 Sugar

2 Baking soda

3 Raro crystals

4 Citric Acid

5 Tartaric Acid 

Steps

1 Add the Baking Soda, Sugar and citric acid together in a bowl.

2 Add the Raro Crystals and the tartaric acid together.

3 Add all ingredients together and place in a plastic bag.

4 Mix it well together and eat it. Yum

Recipe

1 teaspoon of powdered drink crystals

1/4 teaspoon of citric acid

1 teaspoon of icing sugar

1/4 Teaspoon Baking soda.

Findings

1. Witch two ingredients in the sherbet are involved in the chemical - Backing soda

3. Can you think of any other chemical reactions that might happen in the kitchen - Raro Crystals

In wood work we were learning about what certain tools would work for certain parts of what we making.  Wich was A boom box we you making the front of it and we had to draw something that we like or hate on a piece of wood.  The boom box would look like a big 3d rectangle box with a something in it to make a sound.

Hello Today I will be telling you guys about what we did in health.

In health we were learning about diversity and LGBTQIA+ That stand for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and asexual. We were learning about the males private part and how it functions and what happens. Also we were learning about is normal for some body parts to change and how it changes when you hit puberty. On the June 28 1969 There was a group of people who were LGBT+ did there first protest because people were being treated differently from other people.

Persuasive Writing

 Hello today I'm going to be sharing my persuasive writing work that I have done I hope you like it

Here It is

You should brush your teeth twice a day

I strongly believe that you should brush your teeth more than twice a day because brushing your teeth more than twice a day keeps it fresh consistently, but it really depends on how your brushing your teeth and what your using but make sure you brush your teeth correctly. Brushing your teeth not only keeps them clean but freshens up the smell of your breath dentists also don't have to do clean your teeth and gums if they aren't clean.

Additionally on how brushing your teeth more than twice a day is good for you. Because it keeps it fresh all day long and people don't have to smell your bad breath because that just going to be disrespectful to you and the people your talking to. 

Secondly how you should brush your teeth. So what is brushing your teeth all about you might say?Brushing your teeth is all about you helping yourself remove food and plaque. The plaque in your teeth normal forms on your teeth and it can contain bacteria. After you eat something that contains sugar the bacteria in the plaque starts to attack your teeth witch is why your teeth tend to fall out and that's another reason why your should brush your teeth more than twice a day.

Finally Brushing your teeth helps dentist. Brushing your teeth also means dentists don't have to do as much work, but also saves you money so you don't have to go spending your money and risk getting hurt while getting your teeth pulled out because no one wants to get there teeth hurt or broken.

In conclusion all of what is said not only helps you but also helps people around such as dentists and people your talking so they don't have to smell your bad breath in the afternoon. This  brings me back to my point that your should brush your teeth twice a day!

maui and the fish

 Hey hi how doing thanks so much for stopping by today we are learning about drama.

For drama we were doing the Maui and the fish we were doing the scene of when Maui was pulling up the fish I was pulling the fish and Caleb was making the fish and tom was looking out. I think we could work on levels, levels meaning height and maybe we could work on facial expressions and a bit more. When we were doing there freeze frame i was more comfortable with doing more facial expression and as a team we were better with levels.

Story of Maui and Fish

Maui's brothers were going to go fishing without him so they went in the morning but last night Maui hid in the boat. The next morning the brothers went of into the sea without knowing Maui was hiding. Suddenly. He Jumped out and everyone hated that he was here. He said keep paddling I will be the leader of this group, keep paddling. The sky dark and the sun was slowing going down. Maui stopped and said this is a good place to fish. He ripped some blood from his for bate he swung his hook and lauched it into the sea Rumbling started as Maui used all his power and strength to pull his hook up and the fish. At final he pulled up the North island thats why the north island looks like a huge fish. Maui went out to go get his hook but the brothers we want some land because we helped paddle. The End

Tableau

Hello today I'm sharing a post about tableau
we did this in drama and here is our image. A Tableau is also known as a freeze frame here is the definition of a tableau. A group of models or motionless figures representing a scene from a story or from history.This week we have been doing it about Maori language week and we have been learning or remembering the story of Maui and his hook. We also did it about the tanifa and went into a shape like him or her. In this tableau we were making the scene of Maui jumping out of the boat.

Skittles

 Chromatography is technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in which the components move at different rate.

Aim: To separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography.

Materials: 

1. skittles

2. water

3. petri dish

4. Beaker

Process:

Step 1: Get your equipment set up ready to pour the 50mls of water into the petri dish with the skittles.

Step 2: Place the skittles into the the petri dish around the edges.

Step 3: Pour 50mls water gently into the middle of the petri dish

Step 4: Watch as the water rewmoves the dye from the skittles. See wich colour reaches the middles fastest

Step 5: Record your results on the table below.

Rainbow Paper

 Aim

Materials

1. Boiling chube

2. Pen marker

3. Water

4. Filter Paper

5. Scissors

6. Test tube stand

7. Ruler

8. Pencil

Process 

Step 1 : cut up the filter paper into strips ready to right on the felt pen.

Step 2:Rule a line 1 cm from the bottom of the paper strip.

Step 3: Put 8 ml of water into the bottom of the boiling tube.

Step 4: Draw two coloured pen dots on the pencil line.

Step 5: Drop the paper strip into the boiling tube and once it is touching the water at thee bottom you can crease the top of the paper over.

Step 6: Watch, taker 2 photos and observe the chromatography process on your paper.

Friday blog

 Today's blog post is about my Saturday rugby game I play for the panther rugby league club under 12's we vs Linwood we the score was 20 - 16 we played centre in the game. We played at the Canterbury park inside the oval. Our game was at 9:00 but we had to be there at 8: 30 We train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Lesley park 4:30.

Milk Plastic

 Aim: Make milk into plastic

Material:

Stove, oven or microwave

Measuring cup

Measuring spoon

pot or microwaveable container

white vinegar and paper towels

spoon

mug

Optional : food colouring glitter, or cookie clutters for decoration.

Method:

Pour 1 cup of milk into the pot or microwaveable container

Heat the milk in the microwave or on the stove until it is steaming

add 4 teaspoons white vinegar to a mug

add the hot milk into the mug with the vinegar 

Stir the mixture with the spoon

Stack 4 layers of paper tower on to a surface that is safe to get damp

Scoop out the curds with the spoon and place then on the paper towels

fold the paper towels over the curds and press down to obs orb excess liquid

knead all the curds together into a ball of dough

you can colour you dough with food colouring

you can add glitter to make the dough sparkle

you can use cookie cutters to shape your dough

or you can sculpt your dough with your hands

now you have turned milk into plastic

Fizzy Drink and Mentos

Aim: To see which fizzy drink reacts the most with mentos lollies.

I think that the the coke will have the most reaction to the mentos.

1. coke - 1  cm

2. sparkling duet 1cm

3. lemonade 1 cm

Equipment

- 100 ml liquid

- Ruler 

- Beaker

-Ingrediants

1 collected and set up the beaker, and ruler.

2. Got the 1st liquid and put 100 ml in the beaker

3. Put the mentos into the liquid 

4. Measured the height of the fizz.

5. Repeat steps 1-4 with the second and the third liquids.

Floods

Today's blog post is a about the Flooding in Canterbury (29-31 May, 2021). Heavier than normal rain fell on Canterbury and water rushed down the fivers causing bridges to break and farms to get flooded and trapped by washed out roadster.

Gummy Brear Osmosis

 Aim: I want to find out what happens to Gummy bears when we put them into different liquids. I think the gummy bears will grow in the liquid.

Equiment

Three solutions - water, sugar and salt

Four gummy bears if the same colour

Two Petri dishes

Marker pen

Electronic Balance

Measuring Cylinder

Steps

1. get Equipment

2. Label Petri with Dry, water Salt water Sugar

3. Weigh the Gummy Bears and record their weight on the Petri Dish

4. Add 40mL of the solution into the Petri Dish

Findings:

FINDINGS

The Water that was included in the first gummy bear petri dish made the gummy bear change from dry weight of 2.9 to a weight of 5.94 The difference between the two weights was 3.9 This means that the gummy bear absorbed this amount through the process of osmosis. The salt water gummy bear bear petri dish had a change from dry weight of 2.8 to a wet weight of 3.90 The difference in these weights were 1.1 The sugar water solution in the petri dish with the gummy bear made the gummy bear weigh  2.10 to a wet weight 6.01 This means absorbed 4 water in total

Talking about people who help stop bullying and people who don't The ones who don't care are called by standers. and we have been looking trying to be out stander and helping others with bullying

By standing is

Someone who engorges people to do silly things

People who bully

people who bully because they think its cool and they try to cover up their weaknesses

Out stander is

A brave person and knows the right thing to do

Stands up for people you cant for themselves

Seek for greatness and stops unkind things

And knows when to get an adult when things are unsafe.

So my challenge for you guys is to be an out stander

Whats the Equipment used for :

The Bunsen burner is for heating up chemicals .

The test tube is for putting chemicals in it and can be heated up by the Bunsen burner.

Beakers are often used to hold, mixed and heat reagents. Most have a small lip for pouring liquids Test tube.

The conical flask is the most commonly used Laboratory Equipment in scientific research. it is used  to hold and measure chemical liquid samples.
