Skittles

 Chromatography is technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in which the components move at different rate.

Aim: To separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography.

Materials: 

1. skittles

2. water

3. petri dish

4. Beaker

Process:

Step 1: Get your equipment set up ready to pour the 50mls of water into the petri dish with the skittles.

Step 2: Place the skittles into the the petri dish around the edges.

Step 3: Pour 50mls water gently into the middle of the petri dish

Step 4: Watch as the water rewmoves the dye from the skittles. See wich colour reaches the middles fastest

Step 5: Record your results on the table below.

Rainbow Paper

Materials

1. Boiling chube

2. Pen marker

3. Water

4. Filter Paper

5. Scissors

6. Test tube stand

7. Ruler

8. Pencil

Process 

Step 1 : cut up the filter paper into strips ready to right on the felt pen.

Step 2:Rule a line 1 cm from the bottom of the paper strip.

Step 3: Put 8 ml of water into the bottom of the boiling tube.

Step 4: Draw two coloured pen dots on the pencil line.

Step 5: Drop the paper strip into the boiling tube and once it is touching the water at thee bottom you can crease the top of the paper over.

Step 6: Watch, taker 2 photos and observe the chromatography process on your paper.

Friday blog

 Today's blog post is about my Saturday rugby game I play for the panther rugby league club under 12's we vs Linwood we the score was 20 - 16 we played centre in the game. We played at the Canterbury park inside the oval. Our game was at 9:00 but we had to be there at 8: 30 We train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Lesley park 4:30.
